Most of the Sony players can be hacked for multi-region via one of those 'one 4 all' remotes.

Makes sense to stick with LG, then use the same remote for TV and DVD.

BTW, what do you have against Sony? They make decent BD players.

if it came to a sony, might you as well buy a PS3?

I love my PS3, but you can get a standalone deck for about half the price if you're not a gamer.

A PS3 can play BD.
But you need the buy the BD remote, and they are quite noisy as BD players.
I have a PS3 and a Sony BD player.
I keep meaning to change to an LG BD, to match the telly, but can't be arsed.
