for some reason the remote on my DVD player doesnt want to work.. changed the batteries for new tested ones... but still does not appear to want to work?

Now is there something my 18 month old daughter has done, as she has already broken the video recorder!

Any ideas??? Its about 6 years old so no warranty... should i just bite the bullet and buy a new one... if so which one? have Virgin Media V+, and full 1080p LG screen, suggestions (on a postcard) please,

ta, Marksparks999

If you can't track down a replacement remote, they're so cheap now you might as well get another one. Which one depends on how much you want to spend. You might even consider Blu-ray.

Only in PCs. LG BD-Rom drives are good, but the stand-alones not so much! Argos are currently selling a BD player for under £100. It is a Bush, but a few people who have it say it's not too bad. The Sony S350 isn't too much more than that and can be purchased as multi-region for DVD (not BD).

how about one of those programmable remote controls? One4 All etc I've seen them in Currys, Argos, even poundland. Not sure you'd get full functionality though.

Do you have a richer sounds near by, they may have a better idea which ones would work

Have you tried testing the remote ?

You can do this by pointing it at a camera or mobile phone camera and pressing the buttons while looking at the camera screen , you will see the remotes IR light up if it's working.

P.s. If it is the remote that's dead AVUK sell the original one delivered for £22

thanks w@yne... remote is working, just the dvd player does not appear to be responding?

I am pretty sure that my 18 month old daughter has done something to the player? dont know how maybe she has done something in a back menu? is there a way of resetting to factory settings?

I don't think you should rely on a 18mo to correctly alter the settings on electronic equipment. Stop being so lazy and do it yourself.
