Resurrecting this old bone of contention, I had opportunity to try a Monster HDMI cable last week ( RRP £44.00 )
Well, to say my mind was blown is an understatement.
Immediate and definite improvement in SKY picture.
Brighter colours, deeper blacks.
So much so that my LCD needed a wee bit of recalibration to the settings.
I didn't even bother unplugging it again, I just got my wallet out and gave the bloke the dosh.
I tell you, it was a huge surprise to me.... ![]()
That's interesting...I was under the impression that it didn't make that much of a difference.
I might have to see about getting one for the PS3. Its running on a cheapo £8 jobbie from ebay.

I didn't expect it to happen.
I didn't want it to happen.
I wanted to mock his fancy cable and send him on his way.
The difference is so marked though (compared with the HDMI cable that came with the SKY HD box) that it was impossible to do so...
I'm going to buy one for the DVD player too, as soon as I can afford it.

Doc - where would you recommend I buy one of said QED cables? (online preferably)
Cheers!

And would one expect to see a marked difference between a £10-15 cable and a £40-50 one?
The supplied cable with the Sky HD box is probably a £2 one.

As I am not aloud to advertise myself, don't expect me to tell you to go to a competitor.
I would quite happily order from yourself! ![]()
If you did mail order of course??
