Hardware Forum - Bright band down the left side?? - Page 1

Don't know if this is the right place for this post (I think it is though).

Recently I've bought a small number of region 1 and region 3 discs. Most of them are ok, but on one region 3 and one region 1 film there appears to be a bright band about 3mm wide down the left hand side of the screen. It's not a problem as such, but occasionally I find myself staring at it and just wondered whether this was something other people had seen. I've tried the discs in my laptop and the same bright band is there, so I don't think it's my TV/DVD player combination.

1) Does anyone else get this?
2) Why is it there?
3) Is this "normal"?

Any ideas people?
