Advice Please - DVD Player that plays copied dvd`s
posted by Ginny on Monday, 21st April 2003, 16:15

Harmless

Ok, I want to buy a cheap (Say up to £120.00) dvd player that is multi region and will play copied dvd's without me having to download anything. We brought a Crown dvd player today from Sainsburys, it played ok, but it looks awful too big and chunky. Also brough a Mico some weeks ago but sent it back cos I had to dowload stuff and i am no computer boff. So please any advice on a decent looking (Slimline) dvd player that needs no downloading that will play my copied dvd's (preferably with MPS, cd and Kodak thingy).

Cheers

Mostly Harmless

Staples are selling a really good DVD player by Mirror that costs about £59 or £69. It plays copied CDs, VCDs, and is region free etc.

My brother bought a pioneer 350 (ultra slim) player from superfi at the weekend. £99 (multiregion too). Tried it with +R and -R all ok. Picture when thru RGB very good! I was very impressed with it.

Competent

My mustek v520 plays any disk i have burnt in my DVD writer, but only quality DVD-R's though. Alot of players don't like cheap quality disks.

You just can't beat it:

It is more than say the Hyundai 302A (£60 from PantherOnline), but it is more reliable and plays better. Can't beat it for Mulitregion multidisk playing. It even plays DVD+RWs!!!!
