Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a patch for my nero program.
I have just purchased a pioneer 105 dvd writer and previously used to back up my music cds using nero, now it won't recognize my writer
My nero is version 5.5.9.2 bundled.
Please help as this is the only program I have to take out the gaps between tracks from my music.

Hi, I'm not too sure about the burning of DVDs but have you been onto the Nero site to get the latest updates.

For all music work try to get hold of 'Cool Edit 2000/Pro'. You can do almost anything with it.

As your Nero was a bundled version it will only work with the writer that it was bundled with. The latest version of Nero is 5.5.10.7b, but I don't think it will upgrade your bundled version to a full version, just the 30 day trial.

The download will upgrade both bundled and unlocked downloaded versons.

Will it *unlock* the bundled version so it can work with any writer, though? That's what the guy needs.

The version or nero you have will only work with the recorder that it came with, if you download the patch it will only patch your verson of nero to the latest version but it will still be a bundled version, so it will still only work with the recorder it came with, your only 2 options here are
1. The legal one buy the full version of nero from ahead softwear or download the trial version and pay for the unlocking code.
2. The dodgy one beg steal or borrow a copy from a friend or download the trial version and then try to find a crack for it.
Obviously i in no way condone softweare piracy and option 2 above is provided for your information only, in the event you try this option and you get your door kicked in at some ungodly hour of the morning by your local plod nether I or the owners of this forum can be held responsible.
You will however have to fully uninstall your bundled version before installling any version of the full proggy for it to work.

Personally i wouldn't use Nero to back up Dvd's. A lot of set top DVD players work with any other burning software APART from Nero. Try Recordmax...

Ok,
Gave up on nero for my music. Using roxio easy cd creator.
For dvds I'm using dvd decrypter but whenever it trys to read a dvd5 disc to copy to my hard drive (winxp on ntfs, 120 gig) it crashes anywhere between 95-99% so loses(?spelling?) the sound.
Please any suggestions as to how to stop this or another software tool that is as east to use and does the same job. Is smartripper any good?
