Hi, I have just purchased a Samsung HTX200R and used the hack code on this forum for the HTX250. This appears to have worked as I can now play my American DVDs. Hope this helps!!! Happy

This is the hack posted by Hackeroonie for the 250 but worked on my 200! (Thank you for the original post!)

1. Remove disc from tray.
2. Switch off player and unplug power cord.
3. Wait 30 seconds, then reconnect power cord.
4. Turn on player with remote. Wait for player to finish loading and display 'no disc'.
5. Press enter on remote. (There will be no on-screen response.)
6. Press 8, 4, 2, 6, 9 on the remote. (There will be no on-screen response.)
7. Press enter on the remote. Player will automatically shut off.
8. Turn player on.
9. Turn off.
10. Turn player on then off again.
11. Player is now region-free.

Hi

Just wanted to say thanks very much for your advice. I followed your instructions and my samsung HTX 200R is now region free. I was scared it would muck my system up but it was so simple. Thank you so much.

it didn't work for me. May I have to wait to complete the steps to get on the player (having the message 'no disc') for steps 8 and 11?

does it works either for HT-X200 and HT-X200R?

Look below you will see the sequence below.

I would emphasise, though, that when you turn the dvd player off it is important that there is NO dvd in it. If you have a region 2 player with a region 1 disk in it it will display an error code for the wrong region and you won't be able to input the unlock code. You don't want this so make sure that the dvd player is EMPTY before putting the code in because only when it is empty will it display the 'no disk' information on screen.

I used the code suggested below (I have copy and pasted it here)

11. Player is now region-free and you can play all disks without having to input another code.

We need help with a problem. We have the above machine and used the code below to make it region free. However, it won't play region 2 discs anymore. I think I need to change it back - does anyone know the original code sequence to restore the factory settings ?

We have followed all instructions properly by the way .

Ta v much !!

Elite

Robsonic71

As The Code For Multiregion is 9

I would Guess that if you Re-apply the Hack and Change the Numbers in Line No 6 To

6. Press 8, 4, 2, 6, 2 on the remote. (There will be no on-screen response.)

It should in Theory Change The Region Coding Back to Region 2

But as with all Hacks you Try at your Own Risk

Hope This Helps
