Hi,

I've just bought one of these. The hack for the LG RC-6800 (in the info/ multi-region hacks section of this site) also works on this machine. You might as well select the region zero option, rather than a particular region: I've tested it with region 1 to 4 discs (including R1 RCE) and it played all of the ones I tried. One point to note, after you've performed the hack, go back into setup and take the lock off.

Have fun,

NickM Happy

1. PRESS THE SET UP BUTTON ON YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
2. SELECT THE LOCK OPTION FROM THE SETUP MENU
3. SLIDE OPEN THE COVER AND PRESS THE LOCK BUTTON ON YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
4. PRESS THE 0 BUTTON ON YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
5. PRESS THE 0 BUTTON ON YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
6. PRESS THE 0 BUTTON ON YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
7. PRESS THE 0 BUTTON ON YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
8. PRESS THE 0 BUTTON ON YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
9. PRESS THE 0 BUTTON ON YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
10. PRESS THE 1 BUTTON ON YOUR REMOTE FOR REGION 1, THE 2 BUTTON FOR REGION 2, AND SO ON, OR 0 BUTTON FOR MULTI-REGION PLAYBACK.
OBVIOUSLY 0 BUTTON FOR MULTI-REGION IS THE BEST CHOICE
11. PRESS THE ENTER BUTTON ON YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
12. PRESS THE SETUP BUTTON ON YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
13. POWER OFF THE DVD PLAYER
14. POWER ON THE DVD PLAYER

CONGRATULATIONS YOUR LG RC1000 IS NOW A MULTI-REGION PLAYER.
REMEMBER TO PRESS THE LOCK BUTTON AGAIN AFTER STEP 14, TO UNLOCK THE USER BUTTONS ON THE FRONT PANEL OF THE PLAYER.

Good tip. I'm thinking about buying one of these puppies, but I have a general question - do you know if it's possible to attach a second DVD player (via a Scart socket or something) and do DVD->DVD copying? Also, does the unit support Dolby Dig 5.1? If it does, Argos are about to make a sale...

Many thanks.

Matt

I've just bought one of these
if I was to apply that multiregion fix can it be reversed removed Tongue

yes you can plug another video etc into it and it has a front panel for connecting you camcorder etc.

I have one big problem
I cannot get the TV to pic up the RF OUT signal so that I can tune it to a tv station
has anyone else got this problem.

I also need to know if there is a code so that I can use the Remote Control with a JVC TV.
