Folks
The Targa DP-5100X needs A Firmware Update to make it Region Free...It is an LG OEM Player
All the info you need is Here
OR SEE NEXT FORUM POST
homepage.ntlworld.com/simpson.mark/targa.html
and more of the same Here
www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=298942&highlight=targa
and Here ...Do not be put off by the Fact that this is an LG update page as I stated earlier the Targa DP-5100X is an LG OEM Player
www.area450.co.uk/lg5083hack.htm
The Update Hack works perfectly I have applied it Myself to a Targa DP-5100X
Just to make it Clear again there is NO Handset Hack for the Player and there will not be no matter How many times you ask for it .....it needs a Update Disk.

Folks
Further to my Post above here is some Information on Multi Region for This and other Players.
The Upgrade Hack works on this Targa Player (DP-5100X) .....Because as I stated on my Earlier Post it is not actually Manufactured by Targa ......it is an LG OEM Player (ie a Targa Badged Player made By LG)
Here is the Instructions on How make this Player Multi Region.
1. Create a Folder on your PC and name it SCARLET
2. Go to this site and download the File kpjc19_1.dvd into the Folder SCARLET (Do not worry the site is in German... the Link to the Download is clear on the Right side of the page at step 3)
people.freenet.de/Targa/frieschalten_des_regionalcodes.htm
3. Create another Folder on Your PC and name it RMTM0000
4. Place the Folder SCARLET ( with kpjc19_1.dvd in it) into the Folder RMTM0000
5. Burn the Folder to a CDR
6. Place the CDR into the Player and follow the ON-Screen Instructions...which will follow the lines of Press New Region Number ( 0 ~ 6) and press Pause to Exist ( ie.Memorise)
Player should now be Region Selected.
UPDATE
Or you can get the Folder ready to burn from this site (Zipped File) ...The Top Two Sony links on the Player list on the Page ( i.e Sony RDR-GX210 & AVD-LS10) is where you will find the Zipped file you need....Just download it, Unzip it , and Burn it to disk then follow the instructions from Step 6 as above.

Use this Update at your Own Risk ...I have used it on the Targa DP-5100X Sucesfully
This upgrade will apparently work on these other Models
Zenith DVB318 (LG OEM Player)
Toshiba SD-4900 (LG OEM Player)
Sony DAV-D150 / DAV-SB100 / DAV-SB200 / RDR-GX210 / AVD-LS10 (LG OEM Players)
Aiwa HV-DH1 (LG OEM Player)
LG DVD-5000 / 5063 / 5083 / 5095 / 5183 / 5253 / 6053 / 6183 / 6188 / 7700 / 7720 (Genuine LG Players)
Hope this helps

Cookie Lad
DId you not Read any of the Forum Posts?
There is NO Handset Hack..But it can be made Region Free
Here is the Required Information Again.
The Targa DP-5100X is not made by Targa it is LG OEM (ie Made By LG and Badged Targa)
It Cannot be Hacked via Remote Control... it Requires a Firmware Update Disk to Make it Region Free
Here is the Instructions on how to make the Firmware Update Disk.
Use at your OWN Risk
...Go to this Link
www.area450.co.uk/lg5083hack.htm
Download the File from the Link Marked this zip file (5KB size) (As it says it is a Zipped File) ..once downloaded it is called LG5000.zip
Unzip the File...once Unzipped it becomes a Folder Called RMTM0000 and a Text Instruction File ...Burn the Folder RMTM0000 ( NOT the Text File) to a CDR (as a Data CD) ...Put the CDR into your Player and follow the On-Screen Instructions
..And Job Done.
As with all Hacks use it at your Own Risk
But it Does work as I have used it myself.
Hope this Helps

It is probably because the XviD has packed bitstreams, unpack them with a utility called MPEG Modifier which you can download from moitah.net
