Harmless

Hi,

I just posted this;

Folks,

Just found a successful Philips 580HC or 580M remote hack. It was posted on the 30-Dec-2002 by Thotan of the Philips Syndicate. I bought the player several months ago and tried everything, including buying the oneForAll (Infra red RC6 code) remote etc etc

Here it is;

Press EJECT on the player

Press PROGRAM 1, 3, 5, 6, X (Using the ordinary 580 remote)
(Note, enter X as a number from 0-6 i.e. the region code, 0 will be Region Free)

Press STOP 5 times

I had the TV switched on and tuned into the DVD player when doing this.
After typing "Program 1,3,5,6" then "REGION CODE XXXX" appeared, so you will know you are heading in the right direction.

Good Luck,

J.
