Premier tonight - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

I've managed to get two tickets tonight for the 'world premier' of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo at Leicester Square.  I thought it was already out but what do I know!

Has anyone done one of these before?  Is it going to be any different to just a normal cinema trip other than I might see someone famous?  I don't even fancy the movie, I'll probably nod off halfway through.

How did it go?

I once went to a Premier in Leicester square many, many years ago. It was peons downstairs, stars upstairs, they got a different entrance, and no chance of mixing.

It went like this RJS:

Other than walking down the red carpet it was pretty much like going to a normal cinema viewing, except you got a free bar of chocolate and bottle of water at your seat.  The girl next to me took my water so I didn't even get that.

Only bonus was I thoroughly enjoyed the movie as I wasn't looking forward to it that much before I went.

Had you seen the originals before the remake?

No I hadn't.  Do you think this would change my opinion if I had?  Is it supposed to be better than the remake?

I haven't seen wither, but I read recently that the original is better, especially the extended versions. That usually is the case with remakes, especially Hollywood ones, however you never know how much of that is elitism/snobbery Winking

The originals are excellent and probably, but not definately, a little more graphic.  You can pick up the extended trilogy on blu-ray now for around £20, so well worth getting as I spent around a tenner for each of the films on blu-ray and they weren't extended.

Not saying the remake is not any good btw, not seen it yet.

Everybody on my facebook is spamming me with this, so I don't know how legit it is, but...

It was on Money Saving Expert so maybe its worth a try if you want the novel (and are quick...)

Reading this now funnily enough.  Half way through and starting to pick up.  Hard work up to now though...  Just how many people are there in the Vanger family???  Kindle search used quite a bit. Happy
