So now you know. They are after all called bumpers for a reason, seems a shame to waste that!

Looks like france. A few years ago I was sitting outside a cafe near the Moulin Rouge (clang) with some friends and witnessed pretty much the same thing. 5 guys (Georgian) got out of a car and proceeded to shout directions at the driver (very loudly) for 15 minutes until he got into a suitable position, bending bumpers with every move

10 minutes later they came back and repeated the procedure, taking another 15 minutes.

Insurance out there is basically knock-for-knock

A bit like a Spanish coastal village we were in last year. Every car in the resort was bumper to bumper, and each was totally damaged.

Luckly we just hired pushbikes to get around

Yeah, witnessed a few occurrences of the same thing myself in Paris.

My Parisian colleagues say that they don't leave their cars in gear or with the handbrakes on if they're on the flat...just so that if someone needs to give their car a little 'kiss' (as they referred to it) then it would be easier to move.

Canadians don't parallel park like that, they prefer to leave half a car gap at the front & rear.

My outlook on life is positive & carefree, I'm positive that I'm a pessimist & I don't care what what you think.

Never has so little had to be explained by me to so many so often.

You mean you're not supposed to park like that?  Think I may well need some more driving lessons!

te trick to parking like that without causing damage is to drive very slowly...then when you bump, the cars don't notice and end up all smashed up Winking
