Don't think there really is a cure as such, except find out where the moisture is getting in and cure that.
A trick I've always used since way back was especially for getting up in the morning to find either a covered in ice car that's about 5 inches thick or tons of snow on it was as follows:

Get a mains extension cable capable of reaching car from house;
Buy a small (usually around a tenner) 2Kw or 3Kw fan heater from shop (unless one already owned then use same);
Sit said fan heater on back seat [edit] or rear parcel shelf [/endedit] of car in position 2 of the (usual) 3 way control and close over car door and lock car;
Return to house to continue dressing/breakfast/quick naughty break or whatever for around 15 to 30 minutes;
Return to car and remove heater and mains cables to return them to house;
Start car and drive watching every other idiot spraying their de-icer, scraping windscreens or sitting in their freezing cold cars blowing on their hands awaiting the heaters to kick in whilst you cruise by in relative luxury and toasty warm cos yer whole car is warm inside
N.B.: If the reason for all of the abovementioned is snow and it's heavy, use a sweeping brush to knock most snow off without damaging paintwork of vehicle first.

Another benefit of this method is that in the severe temperatures (like we had here last year) that can sometimes freeze diesel fuel this also transfers heat through the body of the vehicle and can help defrost the frozen fuel and get ya going again safely.

BTW I hate deicer sprays and hate having to scrape windows clear.

use the garage, like you tell your insurer!

It sits on the driveway (which is genuinely what I tell my insurer) and even if I did have a garage it would fit into, I can't really take around away with me.

If the carpets are damp, how about trying a moisture trap?
I've seen these sort of boxes in the pound store but I didn't really look at them, or Amazon sell a few i.e. this one

I sit in my car with the windows down slurping a mug of coffee with my heater going full blast toward the windscreen whilst the engine warms. When the screen is clear and the frost has melted without scraping around 10-15mins I have had a few fags and a large mug of coffee woop no cold soggy hands.

Could also be your pollen filter needs changing?

Can't you use the same trick people use on mirrors in a bathroom and wash it down with soapy water in advance?  I'm thinking the concept is the same.  The windows steam up as it's warm air (breath/body heat) hitting a cold service - windows.  It works in the bathroom so it should work in a car...

Yep, dead easy.

That takes long enough, any thought that I'm organised enough to have the time or inclanation to start running cables and 2 kw blowers about is frankly laughable.

Other thing about that one is that it's safer than leaving the car running like loads of idiots do then go back in the house, the heater is sat nicely in the back of the car locked up tight.

And you get to enjoy yer nice hot cuppa in yer nice warm house

I never leave the car running when I'm not in it.
When I used to have the van full of goodies I used to lock the front door if I went round the back, with good reason up here.
