Cash plan for weekly bin rounds

Cash plan for weekly bin rounds
The government is set to announce plans to encourage councils in England to restore weekly bin collections in a new £250m scheme.

I would be glad to see the return of weekly collection instead of every two weeks, because if I am away on holiday for a week and its the bin week, then my bin would lie for a month without collection, and it stinks and full of insect life.

But if I leave it out for collection when I am away, then any burglar gets the signal that the house is empty. The other option is to find someone to put the bin out, but I do not have that choice, considering I only have one neighbour and he too old to move heavy bins.

Fortnightly bin colelctions are a nightmare for us...what with nappies and pet bdding and stuff, never mind the whole holiday thing!

Last Christmas we didn't get a bin colelction for 6 weeks coz it snowed every week they were supposed to collect them...super stinky and impossible to keep that amount of rubbish.  If they'd done the opposite weeks, the snow wasn't as bad!

We get weekly collections, for recycled waste, which is basically most of it. Doesn't matter too much about the rest of it because we have wheelie bins so anything in a tied up carrier bag doesn't seem to smell outside the bin itself.

We use black bags and shopping bags to tie up the waste before putting into the wheelie bin, but it still stinks if left for a while, so would rather see a weekly collection again.

Weekly collection for our recycle box and bag.
Fortnightly in high season for garden waste (1 x brown wheelie bin)
Fortnightly all year round for household waste (2 x black wheelie bins)

Weekly wheelie for household. And weekly small box for recycling. But we can't put cans, glossy paper and the like. We are about to change to Orange bags for recycling. Then they will take everything.
