Someone my wife works beside has bought a house we owned briefly in the 1980's. She knows everything about our purchase of the house including mortgage details, deposit paid, the works!

Not having bought a house now for a while I'm curious how they get all this detail (ps we are in Scotland).? Thanks good people.

We recently purchased a new property just outside Edinburgh mate and once everything had been processed we were passed all the deeds/documents for the property going back 116 years. When we enquired @ solicitors why we had received them we were told that due to computerisation the original documents no longer require to be kept once processed. Solicitor said "keep em as a house history or bin them".
Hope that helps.
