Awww bless them. I wonder if the railways over here have ever had cancellations because of frogs on the line.

I think that would be one of the only reasons for a delayed flight that would make me smile ![]()
If only they had built animal tunnels.
I deal a lot with engineering services including new duel-carrageways, motor tunnels and motorways, and one of the top items in the specifications nowadays are animal tunnels, located every so often under the road, to suit all the greenies out there, who hate road kill.
They are usually built in areas known for small animals (hedgehogs and the like) and reptiles (usually frogs) that migrate across a known path, where the new road is going to be. So a safe route for them are essential.
When I first started on these projects, I was told I would have to light these small tunnels so the frogs could see there way through (they are either two or three feet diameter pipe), and instal direction signs for them, ok, it was a poor joke, but the tunnels are there, if they want to use them, and if not, SPLAT
PS...there are good technological surveys that are made well before these roads are laid down, and the forests or woods are checked for the known animal and reptile routes over each month, then the animal tunnels are positoned in the locations closest to the busiest animal track routes. Then after the road is installed we actually have fitted 'magic eye' sensors to record the number of animals/reptiles using the tunnel, to see if we did good.
So we know if 100 frogs made it through that day, or one frog kept going forwards and backwards 50 times in the one tunnel. Hmmm !
PPS.. the frog expert said thats OK, they were only 'one way' frogs depending on the month, I wonder what that meant
I get some crazy jobs sometimes !
