Sorry to plonk another obit thread on the forum, but I couldn't let this pass without saying something.
Last night, lung cancer claimed my father's younger brother Roy. Up to a few months ago, he had led a fairly active life, singing with a number of choirs in Bradford in spite of a number of ailments which by rights should have laid him lower. He'd been on a new drug regime rather than chemo or radical surgery, but a couple of weeks ago they took him off the new regime "to build him up". We all realised that was a bad thing, but today's news has still hit us badly.
Roy was the youngest of five, little brother to my Dad who is particularly badly shaken by the turn of events. Roy is survived by his second wife Hazel (who herself is in a bad way), first wife Barbara, Kids Janet, Gillian and Michael and grandchildren Amy, Ashley, Daniel and Charlotte.
They will all miss him. As do the rest of the family.

"There's that word again... is there a problem with the Earth's gravitational pull in the future?"
Sorry to hear this Mark ... it sounds as though he will be sadly missed by many. All any of us can hope for I suppose. Though perhaps trite, as least the struggle is over and he is now at peace.
All the best to you and the family at this difficult time.
