What does his imaginary friend think?
Snaps
Every Third Car

I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was.
Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's 'it' seems weird and scary
Thankfully at last someone is voicing political concerns about the coalition goverment, as the Lib dems sold their souls to the torys, because not one Tom Dick or Harry in the counrty seems to be bothering two hoots about the way our country is going, or maybe they just fear to speak out.
Considering how much the coallition have pushed throught to totaly disrupt this country, freeze wages, destroy pensions, put up the retirement age, increase food and fuel prices both in the house and the car, cause big increases in inflation, still allow fat cat payout bonuses for bankers and city of London merchant #ankers, our standard of living is collapsing around us as we have to tighten the belt due to tripe auterity measures thought up by the tories. I bet MP's are not tightening their belt.
Anyway, as my rant continues, there is hardly any opposition to this lib dem/tory pact, either by opposition MPs, or the public, the press, the trade unions, or anyone, anymore.
Any organised demonstration is conveniently infiltrated by a load of anarchists wearing funnly enough the same police boots, and the emphasis goes on their disruption rather than the reason why the official demonstration was there in the first place.
As we just sit quiety afraid to say anything anymore, the country will go down the plughole, and the disparety between rich and poor grows futher apart, with the middle incomes getting squeezed till their pips burst.
So I am glad for one, when an archbishop has to speak out, when so many lips are sealed at the moment. This coallition has to go sooner then later.

What does his imaginary friend think? So because he believes in a God, whatever he says is mindless gibberish, is that it?
Whatever your feelings about God-botherers, there are a lot of them, and the Archbish of Canterbury has a fair old bit of influence over the Anglican variety. There is the old line about the Anglican church being the Conservative Party at prayer. I think it's healthy for the AoC not to be swigging port and swapping dirty jokes with Tory grandees, but pointing out how morally bankrupt this coalition is. Or would you rather the AoC be some arse-licking old fart like Cosmo Lang (the Archbish in The King's Speech).

I think anyone has a right to indulge in politics and he should certainly speak his mind. Also, being a Christian, he should definitly speak out if he feels people are being mistreated and so on, as that is an unchristian thing to do, therefore I definitly think he is right, and has a right to say what he has.
Its nice to see someone big have the guts to stand up and speak about it though, everyone just seems to have given up, be on the payroll or to scared to say or do anything now.
I'm an atheist, as you know, and I'm just glad he left religion out of it. As the Archbishop, he's in his place of authority by consent of his peers, and as such should be regarded as someone whos opinion matters.
His arguement was well put, and speaking plainly, he put his points across well, leaving God out of his reasoning gave it more credibility, in my eyes.
It's more telling, in fact, that the ConDems dismissed his comments outright as the ramblings of someone who doesn't know what he's talking about (I believe a few actually used those words)
More power to him, and to answer Banicoots questions from earlier, the reason that the ConDems aren't more readily criticized in the popular media is that the only credible alternative is the buch of dickwads who put us in this s*** in the first place
Praise be indeed

Writer's Release
My Collection
Just been watching Question Time with the Mail on Sunday's Peter Hitchens, Charles Clarke and Germaine Greer among others.
Holy crap!
If you think there's been a furore about what the Archbish said to the hack writer, just wait til a comment about our troops that may have been made by Ms Greer sinks in. So far nobody seems to have picked it up, and I wouldn't dream of repeating it in case she's bristling with lawyers and I misheard. ![]()

Mark
Google 'Germain Greer Question Time'. It's being discussed in number of forums. Also, that she appears to have made some comment about Dad's giving their daughters a goodnight kiss could be seen as flirting.
Need to see if this in on iPlayer and give it a watch...
Cheers
