My 42" LED is mega thin, but pretty hefty.
I don't use the stand, but I know what it looks like.
And I don't see why it would be any easier toppled.
A mate of mine uses two sided velcro tape under his stand, for added security.
It really would need a major shove to topple now.
It would take quite a big push to make it fall over - there's generally quite a bit of weight in the stand and lower half of the TV.
Certainly not likely to 'topple over'.. ![]()

I recently got the Samsung UE40C8000 LED TV (pretty damn thin)...and I was a little concerned about it 'toppling'...but as Ste says it would take quite a bit for that to happen.
The stand it came with is a solid piece of metal and obviously set up to provide more stability for the front (so much so it actually tilts backwards slightly).
Assuming your stand is not glass, you could drill a couple of holes through the TV base and stand and fit either quarter inch or half inch bolts with nuts. (hidden at the back of course).
It will never move with that even during an earthquake, and as a bonus it also makes it more difficult for a thief to uplift, by fixing additional bolts from stand to floor.
I did that with my 50" plasma TV and its not going anywhere in a hurry ![]()
You could try one of these
Anti.Clown.Coalition
Or you could just go old skool.
Get a small, thin chain, a screw that fits into one of the lower screwholes for a bracket (most of us will have some here due to universal wall mounts... I know I have some
) and fit chain to TV using said bolt hole.
Then screw said chain to the stand making sure that the chain is coloured to something on the back (cab;e/rear casing etc) so it becomes almost invisible.
Then again, anyone going behind yer telly that aint yuo needs a smack in the mouf LOL.
My panny came with a plastic strap for this very reason. It's not that it's expected to topple over, it's just that "added security" thing.
Chain idea costs about £2 or £3 for a bit of chain from yer local BnQ, doesn't need to be mega strong or thick cos it's just a backup for something that should theoretically never happen.
