Anyone see this on Monday night? I watched it on the iPlayer yesterday in utter bemusement. Another documentary with an agenda. They had clearly decided that games are addictive and bad and should be stopped well before the creation of the program. The program was just a way to set about confirming that view.
Anyone on the documentary who made a reasoned point that there was no evidence to support games being addictive was quickly dismissed so they could go back to the scaremongering of parents. At one point they were talking to a teenager who went into an aggressive rage when his Mum switched off the internet so he could no longer play World of Warcraft. With no footage of this rage they decided to illustrate the point to the viewers by using CG footage of an orc type character from WoW screaming in an Incredible Hulk style and then smashing up the scenary with a club!
Later on the presenter visited a PC Lan event in South Korea and looked on in disbelief that this is what the Koreans would rather do on a Saturday night rather than go out drinking in clubs. Their addiction was that bad! Of course alcohol abuse/ addiction is much less serious
What's with the avatar/logo thing before your messages?
It's giving me a headache.

Don't worry, I'm sure ITV will re-address the balance with the aid of Lorraine Kelly!

Anyone who looks into any sort fo computer game thingummy bob wants them banned outright. Take a Break magazine a few months ago did a special investigation into the grand theft auto games and decided instantly they should all be banned from sale because some people allowed seven year old kids to play them.
I think some people can get hooked on computer games, in the same way that I am addicted to smoking, some people are addicted to alcohol and other drugs...as long as you remember to eat drink and go to the toilet, then maybe a computer game addiction isn't so bad. My fella plays world of warcraft and one of the blokes on his server died when the last expansion came out because he played continuously for about 3 days without even getting a drink because he was so engrossed.
