Since the tournament has never been in Eastern Europe, and there's a lot of money in football there among the top teams, I couldn't help but think it was always going to go to Russia.

Well they have got 3 stadiums built for it already, so obviously the most prepared.
Disgrace really, if England lost there would be case for argument but the fact we finished behind Holland and Belgium aswell means obviously it's means it's absolutely nothing to do with being prepared to host a major tournament.
Ah well at least we won't have Sir David Beckham in the new year (Although it's ****ing inevitable) and no headlines tomorrow of "Beckham wins the World Cup".

I don't think England are any worse than any other country for violence these days, we certainly know how to police it.
I didn't think we'd win, but being knocked out in the first round is a bit harsh!
