An 8 year old boy picked it up and took it in to class. In N. Ireland.

Wow, I'd love to hear how whatever "organisation" is responsible for it justifies doing that.

Children are the future adult enemy. Get em young. Makes sense really. Bit like Terminator but with lucky charms and potatoes.

When I read the title, I thought this was a BLUE PETER project, to build it out of toilet roll holders, pipe cleaners and sellotape Grinning

Is that a silent look of disapproval for our humor from RJS there?

I'll tell you what really disturbed me about that news report. The boy said "It looked like a pipe bomb" - he knew what a pipe bomb bloody looks like! What an evil world we live in!

And then he said "I touched it to see if it was safe. It didn't go off so I picked it up and took it into the school to show someone"

How many bombs has this poor kid picked up and taken to someone in his life? He really seemed to take it all in his stride. When I was a kid, I was taught the Green Cross Code in the Tufty Club, but I have visions of the Scouts in Ireland learning how to identify bombs and how to check if they're safe! How sad is that?

Sad

My empty post was simply something along the lines of, after reading the newspaper yesterday I thought the kid turned out to be just a kid who found it in the playground.
