When I hear some politicians, like Roy Hattersley and John Major, reflecting on their political life, they seem very much distanced from the events and critical of their time in office. Aware of their mistakes.

And then I see Tony Blair, and all I can think of is Margaret Thatcher, completely oblivious to reality.

Apparently he left out the bit where he ordered his death!

Having read yet more extracts, Blair really seems to think the reason Labour lost the last election was their abandonment of New Labour. I'm not so sure, I think the big problem Labour has is various people's inability to distance themselves from and criticise the Blair years.
