Do you need invites now? I thought you just signed up?

You still need invites bizarrely. You used to be able to cheat your way in by using a certain URL, but they've disabled that now I believe. See if you can get an invite - I don't have any left apparently.

Just checked, I don't have any either.

Apparently they don't show now unless you go to the "create invite" section.
A friend just checked his, signed up during their freebie period, and he has none available.

You have to be a Premium (paid) user to get invites to give away now. They were just getting too many freebie users, unfortunately.

I think they do a paid day pass thing if you wanted to try it out.

I picked an inviite up for a couple of quid off ebay last time there was a spotify thread on here.

I'll see if I have any left, but tbh for the free version you might as well use last.fm or something similar its much of the same.

I wouldn't agree with that at all.

Spotify is a much better than Last.fm for streaming music.  Much more available, not really that much that isn't on there apart from the obvious ones such as The Beatles that you can't buy online anyway.

Shared playlists and the like are really good aswell, just a shame I haven't got more mates on there.
