The policeman who baked his dogs to death has more or less got off scot free.

UNBELIEVABLE
Johnson was not banned from looking after animals in the future.

Yeah I was quite surprised about no banning of looking after animals.
I guess the court decided he was guilty of being a knob but none of it was intentional.

Could someone please
Remove these cutleries
From my knees...

A case of them and us I reckon - just protecting their own as usual.

Johnson told Nottingham Magistrates' Court he was suffering from depression and obsessive compulsive disorder when he forgot about the dogs

Johnson, who has served with the force for nearly 18 years, told the court that his medical condition, along with the stresses of the job, had left him seriously ill.

District Judge Tim Devas described the incident as "a dreadful error of judgement" and said it had been brought about by an illness that should have been diagnosed and treated properly.

The RSPCA, which had prosecuted the case, welcomed the verdict and said that those responsible for animals must be held to account for their actions, no matter what their profession.

The organisation said it accepted that Johnson's care of dogs had previously been exemplary and he had not acted callously.

Having taken the time to read the article properly, I can fully understand the final outcome of this affair, and as the RSPCA has accepted the outcome (They have no vested interest in the police force at all) I really can't see how it's a case of a animal-murdering copper getting off scot-free at all (which seems to be the implication).

I also read it fully & it is clearly a disgraceful outcome whatever way you look at it. Leaving dogs in a van with no window open for 9 hours. COME ON.

The RSPCA are a bunch of tosspots & you have to be naive to believe all the drivel that was read out in court.

What outcome did you want?

He was found guilty

I see they are having an internal disciplinary hearing so I would expect him to be discharged from the force

How about 9 hours in a van with no windows open. On a hot day obviously. Lets see how he likes it!

Get a grip, FFS.
He accidentally killed some dogs.
He's hardly a threat to society.
