No Apologies For Posting - RIP Lionel Jeffries

Warder Sidney Crout in Two Way Stretch, Insp. "Nosey" Parker in Wrong Arm of the Law, Professor Cavor in First Men In The Moon, and of course Grandpa Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang; Director of The Railway Children, The Amazing Mr Blunden and The Water Babies has passed away at the age of 83.

I offer no apologies for placing an obituary thread, because I'll miss him.

Along with Sellers in the same movie arguably the genesis of Fletcher and McKay.

In missing him we'll probably see more of him. No doubt a film or two will be shown in memoriam.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was.
Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's 'it' seems weird and scary

Fun fact, even though he played Dick Van Dyke's father in Chitty Chitty Bang bang, he's actually 3 years younger

will be greatly missed

Yeah, we was a great actor - had some amazing parts.

My husband came home last night and said that the fella in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang had died, I said "Dick Van Dyke?", and he said yes, so this has put me straight...

Husbands are bloody useless! Tongue

RIP Lional. Liked his acting a lot. I've never seen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang but I believe it was written by Ian Flemings who wrote the James Bond books, but I expect you all know that.

Edward Judd and Lionel in First Men On The Moon stirred my interest in all things sci-fi and I am thankful to both for that Happy
