Now, I consider myself a charitable sort of person: donating a few quid per month to my chosen charities, dropping the odd bag load off at the local Cancer Hospice, and filling a door step collection bag or two now and then, but how much bric a brac do these charity orginisations think we have?
Yesterday, I counted 42 unused door step collection bags in a box we keep for plastic bags, of which, 6 of them were received in the last fortnight.
At least I'll never want for a bin liner...
Live a life you love, use a god you trust, and don't take it all too seriously

They're hardly ever *charity* collection bags. Usually they *say* it's for charity, but if you read the leaflet they are registered companies not charities, and they actually sell the clothing and claim to donate "a percentage" to charity.
Quote:
I don't use them as bin liners for fear of causing confusion on bin day (we don't have wheelie bins here yet)
So between your kitchen and bin day, where do the full bags go? Do you actually have to leave bags at the kerbside? What about cats and foxes? Or do you have the old-style bins still?

Our bags go outside, yes, but they don't contain anything of interest to foxes or cats, except when we have a roast chicken and there's a carcass. We compost all our left over food, or give it to the chickens, and we take all our paper, tins and bottles to the local recycling bank. So all that's in our bags is packaging - plastic and cardboard!
