Severe weather warning for the south of the country for today and tomorrow. It was god-awful; this morning. which is no fun trying to operate a crane in driving rain, but I endured, as always. Wind was calm but warm about 5.30, which is never a good sign this time of year. The rabbits are in the side passage, and I've nailed the tarp down to the wood store. All I need is some candles on standby and I'm prepared for the dark ages

We had one almighty clap of thunder with almost simultaneous lightening flash about an hour ago, followed by a really mad hail storm. Extremely windy, starting to remind me of the Great Storm!
Still windy now but the sun has come out. My 13 year old has enjoyed the show so much he is talking about becoming a meteorologist!
