Courtesy of AICN. I'd have to say it looks ok, but rebooting a series like this seems pretty pointless

Writer's Release

Im in two minds about this, Im looking forward to it as a fan of the original mini series and then tv series, but also as a fan of the original series I hope it does it justice. Ive read that its a 'reimagining' of V but will feature some of the iconic moments from the show, so I suppose only time will tell. Im going to watch it, well 4 episodes and then the long wait till next year...if it comes back at all...I know from previous experience how many U.S shows vanish after a handful of episodes.....

Hey, it's got Elizabeth Mitchell in it so it can't be all bad!
why take life so seriously..its not like you are going to make it out alive
given how little good sci fi is on at the moment, & how awfull the the new stargate is, i'll happily give this a chance....

I think the writers of the new Stargate have a mandate to fit an awkward, gratuitous sex scene into every episode. Ah well, at least there's hope for a Ming Na lesbian romp.
As for V, I'll give it a go. Big fan of the original and it has both Morena Baccarin and Laura Vandervoort in it, so there's eye candy. Bird from Lost is okay as well. I do miss the red jumpsuits and jackboots of the original though!
Battlestar shows that these reboots can sometimes work, so it would be silly to dismiss it.

I liked the miniseries and I really want it to be good because I've been looking forward to it for ages, but I'm not optimistic about its chances now because of the problems it's had and the network's decision to put it on hiatus for months after the first 4 eps.

UK Sci Fi Channel has started advertising it as coming 2010, so maybe after the US gap they'll show it to be only a week or so behind like they are with Dollhouse season 2.

I really liked it; enough of it was the same, but enough had a different spin. I'd have liked it to be slightly slower paced or longer so that I SPOILER:
could have known Alan Tudyk's character a bit longer so it would've been more of a shock. I guessed he'd be a Visitor quickly because I couldn't remember reading that he was going to be in it! ![]()
At the start it was shown to be morning in NYC but dark in London...

I enjoyed it but as XFG said there was a lot crammed into the first episode, a couple of weeks building the story a lil more would have been nice as weve been thrown right into the story, fine for those of us who enjoyed the original but if you were not familiar with V there was a lot to take in within the first episode
