Lost Season 6 thread

Thought this was best place to put this, but just searching for New York (wondering if there was any old threads about New York as I'm going) and saw this posted by Gareth in Lost season 3 thread.

Apparently the paper said

Quote:
The body of John Lantham of New York was found shortly after 4 am in the 4300 block of Grand Avenue. Ted Worden, a doorman at the Tower Lofts complex, heard loud noises coming from the victim's loft. Concerned for tenants' safety, he entered the loft and found the body hanging from a beam in the living room. According to Jaime Ortiz, a police spokesman, the incident was deemed a suicide after medical tests. Latham (sic) is survived by one teenaged son. Memorial services will be held at the Hoffs-Drawlar Funeral Home tomorrow evening.

Assuming this is from the season 3 finale when you don't realise it's a flashforward but

Latham is survived by a teenage son????? I've never seen this referred to before (even XFG who officially knows everything about everything) as when this was posted we didn't know it was who was John Lantham (although I although it was Jeremy Latham in later episodes?)

The teenaged son part is what made people think it was Michael. I don't think they had decided at that point who the dead person would be, but they should've expected people to have paused on that bit! Loads of that is wrong, not just the name and him having a son, it's a continuity error but just if I wanted to force it to make sense in the story then maybe Ben or an Other supplied the details for the story (or an Other works at the paper, God knows they have a lot of fingers in a lot of pies) and was just making s*** up - the important thing is that one of the Oceanic 6 would recognise the name. It's not like they'd put a true bio of Locke in there and "Jeremy Bentham" didn't exist until a couple of weeks before his death.

Also damn you for starting the season 6 thread when I was going to do it the other day but didn't!!! Tongue

I'm going to go in completely spoiler-free this time, like last year, all I know is the title of the first episode, which is:

SPOILER:
LAX

and that it comes back in 147 days, 14 hours, and 41 minutes.... Grinning Although I can't watch live this time Sad cos I got one of my best friends into it (dereliction of duty that I didn't ever make her watch years ago, I know) and we're going to watch together every week.

I'm probably going to start rewatching from the beginning now anyway, as I haven't really got anything else that to watch in the background when I'm doing other stuff at the moment.

Which may mean that I bring a load of questions up from earlier seasons Tongue

None of the frames from that episode show the full name, so John Lantham was just a guess (although it does look more like "-antham" than "-entham", so as xfg said they probably just hadn't made up their minds at that point)

SPOILER:
Filming on S6 started last week and, while much of the new season is uncertain (as in where it will pick up), in the season premiere the plotline with UnLocke, Ben, Richard, Sun etc at the statue will pick up right where it left off.

Although I noted the leave me alone comment, realised I missed out saying on the first post.

The bloke that obituary about was John Locke, back when it was a mystery who'd died.

It just got me that it mentioned about a son, as although there's bound to be some plot-holes it seems a huge one to have in.

Now I think about it, it's probably right that seen as it was fake name, it could just be part of his fake history.

Lost is actually the only currently still going show I give a s*** about now Sad Got a few to watch and a few I've watched some of, but none of them are as good as Lost, The Shield or The Wire or early seasons of 24, Prison Break. Sad

From IGN
Quote:

US, October 26, 2009 - For those of you who were hoping for a fairly seamless run through for Lost's final season (similar to the way Season 5 ran with almost no breaks), you're out of luck. According to Abramsology.com, Lost's 6th season is going to be broken up.

According to executive producer Cartlon Cuse, ABC will air the first few episodes in January and then take a time out for the Winter Olympics. The Olympics aren't even airing on ABC, but Lost will still take a break and resume the season in early March.

No official January kick off date has been announced yet.

Urge to kill... rising...

Oh well, that can only be a 2 week break can't it? How long are the Winter Olympics usually?
