Leaking washing machine: help*

Hi,

Our old Ariston washer dryer has started leaking water through the door. The door seems to be closing properly, so I'm guessing the seal has given up and needs to be replaced.

Is this a job for a professional repairer? If so, any recommendations in the Glasgow area?

Cheers,

James.

I think this is a fairly simple job if you are a competent DIY'er...

As far as I know it's usually held on with a huge jubilee clip type thing...

Hi James I changed one on a Ariston washer years ago and from what I can remember it was a bit of a pig to do,but still in the realms of DIY.
If you can see the hole in the seal (usually in the fold) you can stick a patch on from a bicycle repair kit, being careful to fully prepare the area first, mine lasted two years before I had to change the seal.
hope this is of some help to you.
