Mostly Harmless

Has anyone else just been upgraded to the all new singing and dancing IE8 ??
I've just been testing it out and it seems as fast if not faster than firefox
Bill Gates just might have won me back over! lol

Faster than Firefox isn't something to be proud of... it's the Sloth of the browser world.

IE8 is a vast improvement, but still not a patch on Opera and Firefox (although with each update the latter seems to be getting worse IMO)

I'm interested, but does it have add-ons like the AdBlock Plus/Pro available in Firefox?

I tend to use Firefox mainly because I switch between a Mac and a PC and have FoxMarks (for password/bookmark syncronisation), NoScript (to block dodgy sites from running scripts) & AdBlock (which is a marvellous invention!)

So it would take quite a bit for me to move back to using IE8

I upgraded it for Vista's sake...

I did get curious though and I took a look at it. The front end confused me, so I went back to Firefox.

Apparently even if you don't use it, you should upgrade for your OS's sake. If you're on Micro$oft that is.

Been using IE8 for a while and I'm fine with it. My computer, however, is getting a bit too old to handle too many new things and isn't quite so keen...

I've never really got on with FF, so I've stuck with IE and not had any problems - yet!

Like how the upgrade to IE4 made Windows Explorer much better, or for security reasons?

Apparently both...

Although admittedly the first thing I discovered was that IE8 was incompatible with my Printer Software.

But as I don't use IE anymore (Thank's for introducing me to the wonders of Firefox BTW xfg) I'm really not bothered. As long as it makes Windows a little more secure...

Only reason I use IE is for Footy streaming as even with the IE/Firefox button Firefox doesn't like it.
Just feels like a mess whenever I go back to it.

If Chrome had the add-ons that I use on FF, I'd switch to that. Just opening a new tab seems to take an age on IE - pretty much instantaneous on FF.
