Competent

Vistaprint do some free ones... you have to pay p+p...

You can select from certain templates.... the downside is they advertise themselves on the back..... but its just their website... at least it was last time I did it....

Am thinking of black card, white print. Does anyone think that sounds like s***?

I'd say that white on black is fine, as long as it reflects your business or who you are. As such I would suggest avoiding advert cards like Vistaprint, as it could make you look cheap.

We had ours redesigned recently, and had all sorts of ideas. We looked over hundreds of competitors cards, and the ones that would always impress the most were usually the more simpler professional looking cards with straightforward print and quite minimalist design.

Then again, that suited our business. One that I always remember was a black card with elegant shiny pink text, which was for a ladies (sexy) underwear shop. It really suited and reflected that business, but was just basic text across the centre of the card. It just looked classy, which was obviously the intention behind the design.

You could use one of the those £99 logo design companies who also do printing. I've had experience with one in the past and their work was perfectly good, and they were willing to handle the whole process up to print and delivery.

I'm not to fussy, would like something plain, and all it has to say is my name, email, mobile, and freelance journalist/writer..
I just need something to give to people as I keep getting asked, and I'm keen to 'build up as many contacts' - and other w***y expressions, as I can.

I did a proof of a white on black and i did quite like the look of it. Actually, yellow on black might be cool, or, if i can do it, nice, old inky typewriter style font... hmmm..

I might post up a couple of versions and see what y'all think.

was the shop AP Ben? I got stung in there once.. It was worth it though.. diggedy damn!

If you can get them designed (or do it yourself if you have some photoshop knowledge) then I've used Aubergine Print in the past, their website is gash but the results were really good and much cheaper than the others I looked at, really quick turnaround too.

If you need a much smaller print run then thse guys Up Creative specialise in it and work just down the road from me, can recommend them too.
