Didn't actually suck. Likeable characters, decent enough plots (although it flips a few Arthurian legends around) and none of that 'we're great, us' pomposity that caused Robin Hood to be such a poorly made piece of garbage. Shall be watching again

It's not John Boormans Excalibur but I enjoyed it as a lightweighted story for a weekly format.

I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you’ve noticed.) You don’t normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

When fishermen catch dolphin-friendly tuna, how do they know which tuna are being friendly to dolphins?

Cheers guys, I realised that I'd missed this with about ten minutes left of it and couldn't decide whether to bother catching up with it on iPlayer. With those comments, I suppose I shall give it a go.

This it's repeated on Sunday afternoon (today!) at around 4pm, IIRC.

I don't think there's been a film or television programme that has come close to Excalibur, well apart from the Monty Python's Holy Grail Winking

Watched it this morning and thought it was a pretty decent opening episode. 8 yr daughter also enjoyed it which is a bonus. 13 episodes in total I believe. It was certainly better than nonsense like Primeval.

Why is it not in HD though? That's my only gripe Sad
