General Forum - 60th Birthday Ideas Please? - Page 1

It's my old man's 60th birthday in 6 weeks - completely stuck for ideas for a present for him.
Obviously its a milestone birthday so needs to be memorable!
Oh and up to £100.
Here are somethings about my Dad:
1) Likes gadgets
2) but takes a while to get to work them out
3) Twitcher
4) Fisherman
5) Gardener
6) fan of Queen and Troggs and The Who
7) likes sci fi (doctor who, star trek)
8) and most movies

You mention gardener, I remember for my dad I got him a few yrs ago gardener knee pads with new gardening tools along with it, me dad loves it., loves the knee pads , it wraps around the knees. ella

1) Likes gadgets - Avoid, unless there is something he really wants; limited lifespan
2) but takes a while to get to work them out
3) Twitcher - Decent binoculars, telephoto lens, 'coffee table' bird books.
4) Fisherman - 'Quality' rod, reel, bag, seat, shelter ???
5) Gardener - Nice set of gnomes. (Sorry I don't mean that, just hate gardening, and gnomes)

I think the idea of nice day out, something he'll remember is a good one. Before my grandparents died, my parents stopped buying them physical birthday presents, treated them to a day out, payed for lunch etc, i think they liked that more as they got to see places they never would have otherwise.
