Filipino Widower loses fight to stay in UK

His wife is "unlawfully killed" after being given an epidural in the arm rather than the spine during childbirth. So because she is no longer working he has no right to stay in the UK!!! They have been here since 2003 since she was recruited as a nurse, so if she was still alive and had not been killed by the hospital they would still be living here, really is a shocking case for me and the home office at its finest, I think they should be ashamed of themselves.

I'm shocked but not surprised. What he needs to do now is commit a crime or two or three and we'll let him stay indefinitely.

why are you shocked?

He has no right to stay in this country, just because his wife died should the government turn a blind eye?

Its a shame that such a stupid mistake was made but I dont think that makes it OK for him to stay in the UK.

why does he have no right? if his wife had not been killed (unlawfully) him and his son would have been legally fine to be here. I think the fact he fought hard for three years just to get the hospital to admit they were at fault earns him and his son the right to stay here, it's a horrible case of bureaucracy at its worst!

He might have no legal right but certainly has a moral one, Thats one of the problems with 2008 Britain under the Labour party, its all about following the rules and to hell with people, ideals and morals Sad

Anybody remember Robin Cooks ethical foreign policy speech way back at the beginning of Labours reign and what a joke that now seems.

Britain under Blair and now even worse under Brown is summed up thus.

We want to know who you are and what you are doing every minute of the day and if we don't like it we'll tax it or make it illegal.

Political interference or perceived Home Office failures do not simply occur under one party .
