The only knowledge I have is from watching Rosie and Jim...

There's a DVD on Amazon though: Buying Canal Boats (not Rosie and Jim).
You could put a review up on the site! Grinning

There was a guy who bought\did up them as projects to sell on at GSK.

Usual stuff applies with owning one I would think, insurance, mooring fee's & provision of utilities (power, water & telephone - Though power could be self generated & wireless BB\mobile phone could be utilised). Chemical toilet.

I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you’ve noticed.) You don’t normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

I hate answering the phone at work - It disturbs my sleep.

I would imagine lowering them into the water facing the right direction is quite important? Winking

Don't forget a survey, unless new.

Worth looking out for boat shows etc. where you can get an idea of what you want and advice etc.

Also pick up narrow boat magazines from WH Smiths etc. because you'll probably be able to not only get some good advice, but also possibly buy one second hand from the ads section. To be honest, I reckon unless you're proper loaded you're only going to be able to afford an older boat unfortunately.

What about this? Looks more spacious than I was expecting. Wide angle lens?

Never mind the width, when I went on holiday on a narrow boat I must've smacked my head 3 times a day for the whole week! Mind you, I came back with muscles like Arnie from opening all those locks...

That one looks quite good. Is this to live on or for hols?
