Didn't he do the voiceover stuff with Vic & Bob in The Smell Of?

Probably ...he has that one voice. We used to laugh cos no matter how you directed him (ie softer, louder, lighter....) you got that same Patrick Allen booming voice. He did VO's on the Carry On's too. Last time I worked with him (about 5 years ago) he was almost completely deaf and doing parodies of his own voice... but still making a nice living....

He was on a advert the other day can't remember what for though, pluging a TV station or programme I think, also in a 60's British B film the Night Of The Big Heat along with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee which sits in my collection. Happy

Isn't it the E4 music advert? Couldn't remember for the life of me yesterday, but saw the advert again last night.

If it is, he's the one at the end of the advert, who's sat down talking directly at the camera.

I too remember Patrick Allen. Usually played cameo roles as military types in British movies eg North Sea Hijack etc.

I believe he was one of many who was considered for the 007 role in the'60s.

Wasn't "Crane" his hit tv series of the '60s?
