Just got my Twilight Zone (80s) box set, and the Import VAT was £3.84, but what p***ed me off was that Royal Mail added a clearance fee of £4, which boosted it up to £7.84!!!

Robbing bastards!!! They have the cheek to moan about not making enough money!!!!

They did something similar to me before. Couldn't believe it.

How is the boxset by the way?

Be thankful it wasn't shipped DHL or UPS - they charge around £10 admin fee AFAIR.

Competent

Just to support the Post Office, they did give me refunds on DVD Soon items which had the price pre-discount. Customs and the Post Office saw the vouchers and gave me my money back.

Excellent, it's half the size of your average TV series box set such as X files. It's a digipack, much like the region 2 version of the Alien Quadrilogy.

The picture quality isn't as sharp as your modern day TV series, but it's not a bad transfer, but that's because none of the original negatives exist, and the raw footage which was shot in 35mm film at the time was then transferred to videotape, and then everything from editing, dubbing, special effects was done on video.

But so far the episodes I've watched have been fantastic, but that's because the stories are that good that I didn't really notice what the picture quality is like. The commentary on A Little Peace and Quiet is fantastic, especially when they tell you how they how they achevied the time stopping process when CGI didn't exist at the time.

Suprisingly I've not seen a lot of the episodes and what amazed me more is that a lot of the famous actors who are in the episodes were complete unknowns, such as Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, and not only that Wes Craven is a really talented director, because he ranges from strange and weird tales, to nice and character depth tales.

To put it simply I LOVE IT, and I can't wait to get series 2 and 3 next month!!!

Yeh - this ****es me off too! I was lucky - I wasn't charged for my 80's Zone set Happy . (I was charged about £10 for the Original Series Vol.1 - but it's a fantastic set and includes Marc Zicree's great Twilight Zone guide!)

I love the all TZ - I already have every episode from every series on video, but am buying each set on dvd as it comes out.

The 80's series 1 is fantastic - there's some really great episodes that do justice to the original series. Some of my faves are: "A Message from Charity", "One Life, Furnished in Early Poverty", "Her Pilgrim Soul", "To See the Invisible Man", and possibly the best episode "Paladin of the Lost Hour". Great stuff!! Grinning
