does anyone know if you can play australian dvd's on a un-chipped region 2 sony dav-300 dvd player.

Some r4 dvds are also r2 encoded so you will be able to play them but others like the matrix and natural born killers are r4 only so they wont play

If you want to find out which ones are R2 as well as R4, http://www.michaeldvd.com.au is a good place to look.
