General Forum - I`d like to see a chat room on here! - Page 1

Seems like a good idea. Although it may stop people from posting so frequently, as they'll get their say on the forum...

Plus, with some of the heated debates on the boards, I can feel the need for some serious moderation and maybe some hosts.

If you need a host, I'd like to offer my services, I've been a host on the MSN entertainment rooms for about a year, and I am held in quite high regard by many of the regulars there.

I wouldn't recommend it.

It creates more hassel than its worth, because it filters from what was said in the chat room on to the message board with loads of 'I'm leaving' and abusive messages towards people etc)

Then people cutting what one person said in the chat room and pasting it to someone else who it was refering it too, and that in turn creates an argument

I've been in a few MSN sites, and it all ends up in arguments, and people leaving, people being banned, people falling out, and it develops in to little groups where they back stab another group and then it gets to the point where everybody has left and the site becomes a ghost town (for want of a better word).

Plus if the moderators are busy then they get someone else as an assistant moderator, you could get someone who has a god complex and start banning everyone (happend on one MSN site).

plus in the light of the media being all paranoid about internet chatrooms, it could give DVD reviewer a bad name, shuld something did happen and this site was somehow linked.

So its not worth the hassel, I like it the way it is.

I also think the site is fine the way it is - good idea, but it just wouldn't fit on this kind of site. The forums are still the best way for us to communicate.

Well said floyd, all the points I wanted to make, saved me a load of typing.
