The story from BBC news
Stars in their Eyes presenter Matthew Kelly has been arrested by Surrey Police as part of an inquiry into sexual abuse against young boys.
The 52-year-old, from Chiswick, west London, was arrested by Surrey police in Birmingham.
He is being held in connection with "historic allegations" of sexual abuse against boys under 16, and will be questioned on Thursday.
A police spokeswoman said the arrest was not part of Operation Ore.

Always felt he was a contentor for something like this, his oily manner makes my skin crawl.
I would not be surprised in the least if he and Mr Townsend were part of a Showbusiness paedophile ring.

Floyd, would you say, for the sake of sanity, that neither EDITED nor EDITED have been charged, arrested, or even been under investigation for the abuse of children of any age, or any sex?
I only mention this because of what happened to David Bowie just after the Pete Townsend allegations started.
(Before Townsend was named, there werer many message boards 'naming' David Bowie as the person responsible, the only justification for the accusation being 'I wouldn't be suprised if it was him')
Having been very close to someone who was falsely accused of similar accusations in the past, I can tell you, just having the mere suggestion of something of this nature hanging over your head can be a waking nightmare

EDITED has been the subject of such innuendo for decades - thankfully nobody has been able to make any of it stick!
It seems to me that anyone who is considered "odd" can get labelled in this way very easily. Says a lot about today's so-called tolerant society, doesn't it?
It's strange that David Bowie got all of this stick when he's *never* been solidly linked with such a scandal, whereas someone like Bill Wyman doesn't even arouse suspicion despite having shagged a 13-year-old.
(Of course, Wyman is a proper geezer, not one of them nancy-boys with their lipstick and funny costumes...)
