British Defence Secretary, Liam Fox, wants the new Medal of Honour game banned because he finds it disgusting that the player takes control of a Taliban character. You get to play as American or Taliban in the mulitplayer games.

And you don't think this is a bad thing whilst we have serving soldiers out there in wartime conditions and likely to have for the next few years?

Considering British soldiers do not feature in the game and it is a game , no I don't.

I think it's a little premature. In 5 years time, they could probably have released it without any eyebrows being raised.

On the other hand, assuming it eventually gets released, think of the free publicity.

They should ban Counterstrike as well, because you can play on the terrorist side and the game lets you shoot the hostages.

Oh and they should also ban it because the counterterrorist side can also shoot the hostages.

And they should ban Street Fighter because it lets you beat up women.

Personaly, I think going to war in Iraq based on a dossier full of sh*te is pretty tasteless.

If we'd wanted regime change we should have been man enough to just say so.

They should ban Frogger as it promotes poor road safety awareness

Would you feel any different if there were?

Heh @ Frogger.

I guess this is that classic question of censorship. I don't think it makes any difference to me whether it is British or American soldiers, whilst the basis of the game is reality, the actual contents of the game are fiction.

Is it that much different from being able to play the Empire in a Star Wars game?

They should also ban practically every single multiplayer FPS as they all allow you to play as the enemy side in multiplayer matches.
