Amazed no one mentioned my old fave for the Speccy.
Jet Pac Grinning

None of yer 48K or 128K nonsense there... ran right on a 16K it did.
Simple, brilliant, made great use of the limited graphics and sound and kept ya going for hours.
<sigh>

Now I'll need to go find the emulator and play it again! Lol

Actually had that on my mind for my last post and accidently left it off, think this was the first game to really capture my imagination and it didn't matter that was completely repetitive.  Also liked Lunar Jetman as well.  There was a time when it felt like Ultimate really were the ulitimate in home gaming...

Well if you are going to talk Ultimate Play the Game...

Cookie and Lunar Jetman were also great, Sabre Wulf and Atic Atac are still enjoyable. However I think their best was always Head Over Heels. Try that today, it is still an awesome game!

TransAm was also great.. Happy
But I think people are confusing good games (with an element of rose tinted specs.. - esp. if you plat some today..) with the title of the thread.....
As superb as was Jet Set Willy in its day, I played it recently and, well, couldn't for long. Went to Hades instead... Winking
SNES Mario Kart.
And SMB3 on NES too.

I'm playing SMB3 on my DS via the gameboy adv slot right now! It is also the only virtual console game I downloaded for my Wii.

Right irritating in places, but a classic none the less.

Just want my Open Pandora to arrive now, then I can get some serious retro action going.

Nope, not confusing it here as JetPac was one of my all time fave games.... still play it on the emulators now n again and for hours at a time.

Forgot to add Chicken Invaders (1, 2 and Xmas) to the list for the PC Happy

Yeah, Jetpac was ace - used to play it from the 'hidden'  way in Donkey Kong 64 too.  Perfect emulation.

If you can remember, explain please... it might still work on the emulators of today.

Well Rare's games started to be about collecting different types of coind, tokens an all sorts of things so can't quite remember but it was to do with collecting them and taking them to Cranky(?) I think..  I'm sure Google would be your friend....
EDIT: Here you go...
