Got to be Snes with Mario Kart for us.

Purely because it made a reapperance in uni in 2003/2004, at the expense of the Xbox and PS2.  We even brought back the N64 version so we could get 4players on the go, but the Snes was the one for choice.

Goldeneye did get played ludicrous amounts aswell though.

I enjoyed those on a 48k Spectrum with a Kempston Joystick Interface, also loved time on Manic Miner, Atic Atac, Knight Lore, Ghost Rider, etc.  Also remember getting hopelessly confused with both Lords of the Midnight Sun and The Hobbit....

I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was.
Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's 'it' seems weird and scary

The introduction of the 'at home' shooters like Lethal Enforcers was a fantastic achievement in the home gaming market (in my eyes at least!). Games like Area 51, Time Crisis etc. were great fun and meant you could get that arcade feeling at home even more.

It's just a shame that LCDs & Plasmas came out and put a kaibosh on them (they never really took off for the new TV technologies).

I still have my light gun and pedal for the PS1 under the stairs...not that it's of any use now! Grinning

only drawback to the Cinemaware stuff was the constant disc swapping.

I had the 20MB (yes, megabyte) HDD for the Amiga, which really helped with multiple disc games. Was an arse to configure it so that it'd recognise where to look, but once you did it things were fine. This is back in the days when I actually had to think when configuring computers, rather than have them do it all for me or just looking on the web if I got stuck!

My favourite Cinemaware game was either It Came from the Desert or Lords of the Rising Sun. I spent hours of my life on those at weekends when I was a kid, even into the early hours of the morning.
