Whilst I loved my Speccy, I think overall I had the most fun with my Amiga. It just had the best games and was great for making music with.
But the best game, if I had to choose one, would be Elite on the BBC Model B. No other version (and I tried it on the Spectrum and Amiga) never seemed to come close. Ian Bell's site says that the Archimedes version is widely regarded as the best, and I actually bought one off ebay to try but getting the thing into a state where I can try it is beyond me, lacking manuals or the OS of any sort.
Somehow I suspect I may never come across an Archimedes expert who might help me fit a HDD into it and sort everything out.

Postmans Knock, Kiss Chase and Chuckie Egg & Elite (BBC B) were my favourite childhood games
Arcade Wise i used to love that Star Wars game which usually had a knackered controller, used to dream of one day owning one in fact such was my SW obsession!
Nowdays it's CoD titles and racers like PGR3 or GRID.
So my Current All Time = Xbox360 & MW2, no point harping on about the past as times have moved on and so have my tastes.

Elite or Jet Set Willy 2 on my Amstrad 6128, loved The Bard's Tale as well
FF7 on PlayStation
RE4, Zelda Twighlight Princess and Ocarina of time on GC
would all be my standout games

At the Game On exhibition at The Barbican a few years ago, that was the only game I queued for to have go on! I remember having a very similar vector graphics shooter on my Amstrad, wasn't the same though.

Mega Drive/MegaCD/32X. spent a ton on the whole thing, but it was worth it (at the time). Amazing to see how small the games file sizes actually were, and have been playing the old roms on Gens32 for a while. Currently on the last level of Desert Strike, something I never acheived waaay back then. Thunderhawk stands up well too

This is a rather excellent link which I think you will all enjoy
It reckons to be every console there is and its nicely laid out.
The Star Wars arcade game was at the Hemel Hempstead bowling alley. It was sweet.

Hmm, can't possibly pick one favourite. Can do a computer and a console for each generation though:
8-bit: Spectrum 128K (incompatible with an annoying amount of games) . Had a number of Atari consoles when I was a kid, but none stuck in the memory.
16-bit: Without a doubt, the Amiga 500. Binned the Atari ST after a few months in favour of this machine and never looked back. Still have very fond memories of Speedball 1/2, Sensible World of Soccer, the Cinemaware games and all of the Lucasarts adventures. Console-wise, my Super Famicom ruled all (including my Jap Megadrive). Final Fight, Super Mario World, Street Fighter II, Act Raiser... so many good titles.
32-bit: By now I'd moved onto PCs. Started with a lower x86 IBM clone before moving on to the 486 DX33 for X-Wing and the like. Console-wise, well I guess it'll have to be a toss up between the Playstation and the Saturn. Liked them both for different reasons, although I only have my Saturn now.
64-bit: Obviously still PCs on the computer front, and they're still my main love. Console wise I loved the N64, but I was also one of those Jaguar owners... It's in the garden shed, no doubt long since rendered inoperable by rain and spiders.
Modern era: I had a Gamecube, which I loved, but there's only so much Mario I could take. Bought an Xbox for £60 years after they came out and it's one of the best machines I've ever owned (especially since I hacked it). Just been given a PS2 as well, although I doubt I'll ever use it. Best bit of console kit I've ever owned is the PS3 - no contest. As an all-rounder BD playback is great, media centre features are okay, and the games rule.
Still love PCs more than any console though.

Me too. Other favourites of the time were Pirates, Speedball 2 ("ice cream, ice cream") and the Cinemaware games like Rocket Ranger, Defender of the Crown, It Came From The Desert and my all-time favourite from them Wings - only drawback to the Cinemaware stuff was the constant disc swapping.
Good times...

Surprised I'm the first to say it but favourite console has gotta be the Dreamcast, so many innovations and awesome games, I'm sure I'll pick one up again one day for nostalgia. Ahh those were the days when Sega made awesome games.
As for a favourite game I could never choose 1, but these would all be on the list (some just for the hours I spent on multiplayer):
Final Fantasy 7
Panzer Dragoon Saga
Tekken 3
Tony Hawks 2
COD 4
Halo 2
Half Life 2
Shenmue
Resident Evil 4

Speedball 2 ("ice cream, ice cream")
Damn - how could I have forgotten Speedball 2! Spent many many hours on that one.
For the PS2, GTA: San Andreas, Black, God Of War 1 & 2 were the games that kept me entertained.
