And my 40 Gig Firmware 3.10 FAT PS3 is working absolutely fine offline.
As you know, try to sign in and it'll tell you to update firmware etc but as it keeps overheating at the mo I can't get it going long enough to attempt a PSN sign in...

Might try it now, nothing but a sign in and see what happens.
<edit> Nope, asks for a system update and won't let you in. As my 80Gigger is running 3.15 I'm not gonna chance it.

May be problems if you play offline (disconnect from internet) and earn trophies but seeing as they're stored on Sony's servers and not the PS3, the ones already earned they won't be lost.

Fairly obvious it was the RTC, and I could live without it for one day.

As far as I was aware it's not every leap year (not that many consoles lifespans are often more than 2..) but that 2010 was wrongly programmed to be one.  And although Sony's resposibility, it was on a bought-in chip?
Bad comms though - didn't stop them sending me an edvert for Heavy Rain overnight.
Free PSN download anyone?
