Competent

Is this an attempt by Japan to get the back at the world for it's loss in WW2?
First we had Toyota with all those dodgy cars and now Sony. Next our TVs will start transmitting subliminal messages from GB to vote Labour in the election. Shocked

well, the common consensus on this bug is that it's a "known" fault that effects a few different devices (zune) & everything will work fine after march 1st has passed...

maybe it's just a case of Black Monday ? Happy  & tuesday will be fine rofl.......

Which requires dissassembly and therefore screws the warranty or any chance of making Sony repair faulty units...?

Doesn't really matter if your PS3 is too old to have a warranty in the first place... I'm leaving mine off until tomorrow anyway.

i dont think they are even gonna try,   if they think it'll sort itself out when the date turns over to the 2nd,  but it's not something they can exactly advertise....

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/sony/7346906/Dont-use-your-PS3-warns-Sony.html

"We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies and not being able to restore certain data.

ie "god" might miraculously fix it around midnight tonight ?  or am i just being a cynic again Winking

EDIT= since they are advising people not to use there fat ps3's, why the hell havn't they even done an email-shot to registered users..  as the first thing most peeps will know about this is when they get home, & there ps3 won't connect & Then they'll look online & find out why Confused   it's shocking, both PR wise & just horendous customer service....
