Make sure all the roms are not at the root of the drive, put them in a folder called games or something. Also the carts from Deal extreme appear to be fake so will need to get the sys menu/dat for fake killer disabled 1.7 or something like that.

Edit: also to ensure better compatability, ensure you format your micro sd card with the panasonic formatter.

Funny how people here mention Mario Kart. I have hundreds of games myself to choose from and all I ever play is Mario Kart!!?!

Does anyone here have any 'must haves' to own on the DS?

all the dealextreme links are dead Sad & connors cart has started being flakey (i think he's been putting the Tflash card in a bit to forcefully, & it no nonger clicks in, so it's started getting a flakey connection)

does anyone know where i can get a simularly cheap one ? it's only for an old style DS, so old firmware revisions are fine, ie, not bothered if it's a clone Winking

I bought 2 from them a few weeks back that support SDHC as the 2GB cards were getting a bit full, plus 2 guitar hero controllers. They are amazingly addictive!

Guitar hero controller

But can't find any listings of the TT cards, I guess they have been told to stop selling them as when I looked there must have been 5 or 6 different ones available including the R4, that was only 3-4 weeks ago at the most.

A bit more information here.
Plus looks like DX have put in a way around it, Here allowing you to buy one without actually advertising it for sale.

Ta for the link.  I'm thinking I should buy a couple just in case.  My sister left her DS behind in a hospital waiting room a couple of weeks ago (luckily our aunt picked it up when she left later, but forgot to tell her!) and was more worried about not being able to get another from DX than she was about the DS!

Is an R4 better than a DSTT for compatibility (not had much of a problem really though), and what is the firmware like?

We have only used the TT's and never had an issue with them, my step dad uses an R4 and apart from the file structure being a mess and the software not being as easy to use as the TT I don't think he had had any issues.

On the R4 all you get is a list of the files on the SD card, whereas on the TT it only displays a list of your games with a little icon next to them. Much easier to use!

All the best

Gerald.
