Does anyone know of a legitimate re-balling company that takes on PS3's repairs? I've seen a few but really don't want to be sending it to a spotty 14 year old with an arc welder offering a crappy reflow!!!!
My phat 60GB has just gone down, don't want to bin it for the obvious 3.55 advantages!
Any advise is much grateful

Hi, where are you located?
My brother does these repairs, i have been working in his PC repair shop part time for the past 5 months and he has been concentrating on console repairs while i have been working on PCs.
He paid £8000 for his new machine and has quite a high success rate fixing them.
My original JP console packed up a few weeks ago which has custom 3.55 firmware also and has been working great after a reflow.
We are located just outside Glasgow but i am sure he would give you a deal if you have to post out.
You can contact him here ......just say you got the link from skirpy on DVDreviewer and he should give you a good deal.
Cheers.

i'd be interested how you go on with this, i've got an old 40gig phatty in the loft, but it's allready been repaired once, & apparently the succsess rate after that is quite bad,

This is REAL reballing Ogs, not the heat gun or oven methods.
This is supposed to be like, 90-odd percent back to normal success rate
[edit] I'm guessing it's "this" kind of reballing if the machine was 8 G's:

I don't mind running it out there for ya if you wanna send it to me via a lower cost postal option if you find one if the cost isn't too prohibitive
I've also got a US BC phatty that won't go past a red light, not a PSU problem so dunno how he goes with that kinda issue (and again, costs due to the phattys coming serious down in price! Lol)
